CAPTURING LIFE THROUGH JORDAN'S EYES

Hello,

My name is Shelby. I am Jordan's youngest sister. Jordan was an intelligent, charismatic, kind, funny, compassionate, and artistic man. Describing him in so few words feels inadequate. There really are no words to describe the beautiful soul he was.

Jordan's life was forever changed, 9 years ago, when he experienced mania (a symptom of bipolar disorder) for the first time. He spent 6 years trying to manage his illness, with some good years and some years of severe depression. A common issue with this illness is, you feel wonderful when you're experiencing mania. It makes you believe you'll feel that wonderful forever. This makes staying on medication a challenge for those who struggle with this illness.

After a few years of stability, Jordan stopped taking his medication. In the summer of 2021, Jordan's mania set in and he went out to the desert on a solo camping trip. As you'll see in these photos, he was always drawn to the mountains and desert. It's what fed his soul. He'd camped alone hundreds of times throughout his life. This time was different. Mania can make you feel invincible. The summer heat, desolation of the desert, and mania is a dangerous combination. After a series of events, Jordan became a missing person, for more than 2 years. In March 2024, he was found at his final resting place. Not far from the last place he was known to be.

Jordan's illness prevented him from being able to live near his young daughter. Jordan is from Utah, but was living in Australia with his wife and daughter when his illness first manifested. He came back to the US in his mania, and that's when the unraveling began. He was beyond devastated to not be playing a physical role in his daughter's everyday life.

I've created this shop in the hopes that Jordan can live on in the art he left behind. Every penny that is made from this shop will go directly to travel expenses for Jordan's daughter and his immediate family members. This will provide his daughter with the opportunity to have a physical relationship with Jordan's family, like he always wanted.

Thank you for playing a part in sharing Jordan's art and keeping his family connected to his beautiful daughter.
